Signals and Systems

The purpose of this lab is to help reconcile the declarative and imperative points of view on signals and systems. The mathematical treatment that dominates in the associated text is declarative in that it asserts properties of signals and studies the relationships between signals that are implied by systems.

In this lab, students would learn how to plot basic signals like impulse, step, ramp etc. and they would perform different experiments in both continuous and discrete domains like Convolution, correlation, Fourier analysis, Sampling and z-transform of signals.

This lab also serves as an introductory excercise for learning the MATLAB software which is a state of the art tool used in almost all forms of Signal Processing and many other problems.
